Decoupage There will be an additional charge of $3 for materials. Suggestions of wooden items, e.g. small lidded boxes, trinket bowls, mug trees (for jewellery), could be a shoe box or other cardboard item. We'll probably do small canvas blocks first week to give people a practice and a chance to find their own item after being inspired!! :-) Computer Programming Jan Kaluza will be presenting an introductory class on computer programming this term at Karakariki. Class size is limited to 5 per session and ages 12 and up. We will be learning about 'Guido van Robot', preparing the way to programming in the Python language which is quite popular in the market. To cover costs there will be a $5 charge per child for the term for printed and other materials. If you have a spare laptop that runs Windows 2000, Windows XP or newer, it will help to bring that to class. Otherwise, just a small USB stick that is cleared of any files please. The exercises can be done on paper if needs be, but access to a computer at home is a definite advantage as some of the lessons will be homework for the next session. Adventure Sports Kayaking will involve getting wet and needing to bring a towel, change of clothes etc. The weeks we do shooting & archery at KCC, may be no extra charge if we can supervise these activities instead of Mike. As with Team Building using the confidence course, If we can provide the supervisors then he will tell us how to do it & we won’t have to pay extra. Habitat for Humanity Nic Greene, Naomi’s husband has offered to do a session or two about Habitat for Humanity. Quick Notes before the First Meeting
Just a few notices before you come tomorrow:
1)we will have the current name and address list there – please CHECK your details are correct and/or update them if they are wrong, or Add your details if you are new to the group and wish to receive our emails.
2)Mary’s cooking classes will be making LUNCH to SELL to you all – if you would like it!!
For $5 per family, you can buy –pumpkin soup, garlic bread and a biscuit! Pretty good eh!!! So you don’t have to pack a lunch tomorrow!
3) The Karakariki cost this term will be $7 per week, per family (regardless of number of children). So for this term its 6 weeks = $42:00 total.
We would really appreciate an upfront payment tomorrow if possible as it makes it all tidy, and simple.
4) Please come prepared to take your class, classes, tomorrow/ be in your classes tomorrow.
5) Adventure sports begins tomorrow with Team Building and a confidence course. We will go caving twice this term and these times will incur a greater charge. We will have more details tomorrow as to which dates we will do which activities.

Hamilton West Planning Meeting
Dear everyone,
I hope you are all enjoying your Easter Break!
We serve a RISEN SAVIOUR - HALLELUJAH!!!!!
You are ALL invited to our Planning Meeting this Wednesday at 2pm at Mary Shepherd’s place, 89 Poaka Ave, Hamilton, ph 07 846 7907.
Please come with your ideas, inspiration and willingness to help in whatever way you can for this terms classes.
If you have a skill, talent, interest, gift or knowledge of any particular thing or subject or area that you could pass on to a small group of children, then please consider taking a class. We need you! Husbands are welcome too!
If you are new to this, it is really quite relaxed and simple. You can have a ‘helper’ or be a helper, to someone else.
We use the camp's facilities and rooms and the subject range is limited only by our imaginations!
You may come with your children on Wednesday or not as it suits you. Please also bring a small plate for afternoon tea.
We look forward to seeing as many of you as can come, for a great brain storming session together, so we can have another industrious, creative, and fun term together!

Info for Wednesday, April 13th.
Hi all,
Just a reminder about this week's Home School Group...
Where: We are initially meeting at Trinity Reformed Baptist Church, Matai Street, Hamilton
then singing at 2 rest homes after this, at 1pm and then 1:30pm.
When: Meet at 10 sharp.
What: We will practise the songs as a group, make a craft to take as a gift when we sing to the old folks, enjoy a shared lunch together, then go out to 2 rest homes to visit and sing. (Trevellyn and Saint Joans)
Please bring: Something to SHARE for lunch
Extra pair of scissors, laminator or glue guns if you have them.
Is there anyone who would be happy to write out the words of the songs on large sheets of paper for the children to read as they sing? (It would help to have this done before hand - just saves time).
REMEMBER!!! Your children DON"T have to be wonderful singers - just willing to come and be a blessing to these old people. Especially our teens!!!
It's good to have an opportunity to GIVE out to those who are lonely and old and whose bodies are frail after all the years they have spent giving in their lifetime. (James 1v27 is an encouragement on this - Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, [and] to keep himself unspotted from the world.)
An RSVP would be helpful please so we have some idea of numbers for the craft supplies we need.
